With a booming economy and an evolving lifestyle,the Chinese people have grown to be more and more appreciative of the value and meaning of the art of design.As "fashion'and beauty become an increasingly integral part of people's everyday life,the innovative thinking behind "fashion" and the cultural ideal that underlines"beauty"also become the subjects of interests that are worth probing and discovering.NAMOC,being a window that showcases and introduces outstanding works of visual art,has always included the art of design as one of the main subject on our spectrumn.With muxh pleasure we host this CULURE CHANEL exhibition which reflects the design career path of a great name and interprets the cultural characteristics of the world-renowned House of CHANEl-the aim is to share with all viewers not only of the charm of fashion,but also the concept behind the design,and the meandering path along which the House has evolved to be what it is today;and above all,the historical and cultural elements that have accumulated over the decades ,and how its aesthetic concept took place.
It is said that the motivation and inspiration of artistic creation have always been the integral products of social and cultural environment of a given time.This exhibition is a fine testimony to that :the path of Chanel's design in various stages interacted with the pulses of the 20th century European art movement and evolution.Throughout her life,Mademoiselle Chanel has remained close to the greatest artists of her time-artists in the fields of literature,music,visual art,ect.By befrending and exchanging ideas with them,highly inspired dialogues flowed and ignited the fire of innovation.These relationships thus perpetuated the development of her brand and its growth as an ever more recognized name,as well as a carrier of unique aesthetics.This exhibition presents various drawings,artworks,photography,drafts,manuscripts,and above alll,the CHANELL designs.Together they creations and the cultural connotations of design.
